Just way too pretty for a ¥100 public garden! Every corner is exceptional. I can sit here for hours enjoy the sound of water while looking at the art. The garden designed by Tadao Ando.
So worth it especially if you're a fan of Tadao Ando's work. Only 100yen entrance fee and it's just beside the metro station
Well… if you are around the garden or planning to visit the botanical gardens next to it, you can stop by to see ando tadao‘s architecture. Entry is 100yen.
Though it is not a large place, you can easily come to Garden of Fine Art Kyoto if you turn right on the 3ird exit of Kitayama St. of Karasuma Line Subway, as we know to the left there to Botanical Garden. Porcelain baked arts are scattered three dimensionally even in the water flow from falls. Thank to the desperate effort by the designer Tadao Ando, not only ordinary visitors but photographers would be satisfied well. Exhibition way is three-dimensional, so extraordinary and fully enjoyable, nobody would be disappointed at all! So, the architectural construction itself is also qualified as an great art.
100 yen admission fee would be free if you are geriatric over 70.
"Shinshindo restaurant" would be helpful at noon to take bread lunch existing very near across Kitayama-Dori Road.
All day long might be spent without any complaint both with Botanical Garden in peace.
the sound of cascading water is wonderfully calming, a mesmerizing place and there are almost no tourists ❤️
Simple and elegant. A series of ramps with outdoor enlarged art works. It’s worth a visit if you like Tadao Ando’s work.
Little gem close to the Botanical Garden, completely worth the 100 yen fee! This place is for me a perfect interpretation of a super-modern Zen garden, matching human nature and human ability in transforming the space and having it all perfectly merged into the city context.
Don't miss this experience.
The most underated building in Kyoto. People don't know about this museum buts it's one of the best works of Tadao Ando japanese architect
